Richard Dale works with senior leaders and teams to strengthen trust, accountability, commitment, scalability, and performance. His coaching focuses on creating strategic clarity, setting expectations that drive ownership, building collaborative cultures, navigating conflict, and leading effectively in complex matrixed organizations.

Richard has coached senior executives and high-potential leaders for more than 25 years. He began in venture capital, later serving within leadership programs at UnitedHealth Group, where he was among a select group of certified facilitators for its culture-shaping program. He also earned a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from William James College and holds certifications in leadership team performance, executive presence, and behavioral styles. He describes himself as a leader, coach, and facilitator—in that order—and tailors his approach to each client.

Richard spent more than a decade as a senior executive at UnitedHealth Group / Optum, leading health system improvement efforts with partners across payer, provider, pharma, government, and consumer sectors. He worked with senior leaders from organizations including Mayo Clinic, AARP, HHS, and NHS. Earlier in his career, he was a venture capital investor and co-founded Phase Forward, later acquired by Oracle Corporation. He brings broad expertise across healthcare, life sciences, and technology.
