Michiko Schwab is an ICF certified coach and has been a leadership/executive coach for 17 years.  In 2023, she graduated from Georgetown University’s Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching program, one of the world’s leading programs. 

Michiko is certified with two other organizations as well.  As a certified Growth Edge Coach, she applies carefully tailored questions to help clients expand their perspective and increase their capacity to handle complexity. With MRG (Management Research Group), she is a certified partner for LEA (Leadership Effectiveness Analysis) 360 Full Suite.  Michiko is eager to contribute to clients’ journeys towards the best version of themselves as leaders and individuals.

She also facilitates team and group coaching programs. 

As an intercultural trainer, consultant and facilitator, she has worked with global organizations to improve communications, remove obstacles to productivity, and increase the effectiveness of executives and employees at all levels. Her deepest expertise is with US and Japanese clients, but she has worked with organizations across Asia and North America.  As a result of these programs, executives and managers became better global leaders and communicators across cultures, and teams improved their cohesiveness and effectiveness.

Starting her career in multi-national corporations, she has over 11 years of corporate work experience across sales, business development planning, research, and human resources.

Michiko received her undergraduate degree at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies in Chinese Language. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Aoyama Gakuin (Tokyo, Japan) where she studied intercultural business communication and developed her thesis on how to globalize Japanese corporations.

Living in the U.S. since 1992, she worked at Itochu International Inc. and the Japanese Business Unit of DRT (now Deloitte & Touche LLP) before becoming a trainer and coach.

Her bilingual book "Heart to Heart English" or 心が伝わる英語の話し方was published by IBC Publishing, Japan in 2020.
