Maureen Ahern, PCC

Executive Coach

Maureen received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Connecticut. She began her career at The Associated Press as a Sales Executive in the Satellite Networks division and rose through the ranks to lead the division by the time she departed. She then joined Standard and Poor’s Comstock as Director of Operations, where she managed multiple departments and ultimately became VP of Sales for the U.S. and Managing Director responsible for expanding business in Asia and South America, traveling extensively in the process. Following the sale of S\&P Comstock, Maureen was recruited to establish and lead Mainstream Data’s East Coast office, where she signed the largest deal in the company’s history with Technicolor to deliver digital cinema via satellite technology—a career highlight that included sitting in the director’s private screening room.

Maureen went on to form Ahern Consulting, where she helped companies grow revenue. One of her first clients was momAgenda, an e-commerce company, which led to her joining as Chief Operating Officer and Partner. She spent 13 years helping build and lead the business through a successful entrepreneurial chapter.

Driven by her passion for developing leaders, Maureen earned her leadership coaching certification from Georgetown University’s Transformational Leadership Institute and launched Ahern Leadership Coaching and Consulting. She also served as an Adjunct Professor of Communications at UCONN Stamford for over 20 years, teaching Interpersonal Communications and Public Speaking. Known for her warm, direct style, Maureen helps clients unlock their leadership potential—her favorite CEO client describes her as “tough but loving.” She finds deep fulfillment in helping leaders combine awareness with action to make meaningful, sustainable changes in their professional and personal lives.

Maureen volunteers as a business mentor with CT NEXT and mentors students in the Freshman Founders Program through the Werth Institute at UConn. She lives in Cos Cob with her husband and their black lab, Nino, and has three adult children. She enjoys yoga, beach walks, Audible audiobooks, and a cold glass of wine with friends after a long day.
