Jody Hudson

Executive Coach

Jody Hudson is a distinguished leader with deep expertise in operations, human resources management, and organizational development across both government and private sectors. With a career dedicated to transforming human capital functions and enhancing organizational effectiveness, he has held pivotal roles in numerous high-impact environments.

For thirteen years, Jody served in the Senior Executive Service (SES), leading human capital strategy across three federal agencies. As the U.S. Department of Energy’s first Chief Learning Officer, he centralized training for a 120,000-person workforce, saving $35 million over five years, and implemented a successful executive succession planning program. At the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, he was the agency's inaugural Chief Learning Officer and later Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer, driving employee engagement, launching internal executive coaching, and leading leadership development initiatives—including contributions to the White House Leadership Development Program. Internationally, he chaired the IAEA’s Steering Committee on Human Resources Capacity Development, representing 27 nations.

Jody also served as Chief Human Resources Officer at the Bureau of Land Management and later as Chief Human Capital Officer at the DOE, advising cabinet-level and C-suite leaders. Earlier in his career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, he held senior roles across scientific, regulatory, and IT operations, earning honors such as the Scientific & Technology Achievement Award and the Administrator’s Gold Medal.

Since retiring from federal service in 2018, Jody transitioned to Kaiser Permanente, where he served as Senior Manager for Leadership Development and Organization Effectiveness, supporting executive leadership with strategic development and coaching. He continues to give back through public service as an Executive Faculty Fellow at the Federal Executive Institute.
