Make Your Fridays High-Impact

What’s your Friday afternoon usually like?

If you're like most of the leaders I coach, the answer is something like:

“Back-to-back calls.”

“Trying to catch up from the chaos of the week.”

“Mentally fried, emotionally drained.”

What if it didn’t have to be that way? What if Friday afternoons were the most impactful part of your week—not the most exhausting?

At LAeRRICO & Partners, we talk a lot about intentional leadership, and one of the simplest, highest-leverage ways to lead with intention is this: Protect your Fridays.

Not for another Zoom meeting.
Not for inbox triage.
Not for performance reviews squeezed into your last ounce of mental energy.

Instead, protect that space for reflection, strategy, and a real reset.

Maximizing your Fridays

Leadership today isn’t just about what you do. It’s about the energy you bring and how well you manage it. So many high-performing leaders tell me, “I never have time to think.” But we can’t do our best thinking or best leading when we’re constantly reacting.

Friday afternoons can become your edge. Your reset. Your moment to rise above the noise and reconnect with what really matters.

How to do it?

Block ~90-minutes on your calendar to create a weekly ritual. Try:

  • Reflecting: What worked this week? What didn’t? Where did I lead well?

  • Planning: What are the 2–3 things that will move the needle next week?

  • Connecting: Is there someone I should appreciate, acknowledge, or check in with?

  • Clearing: Can I close the loop on any open tasks or conversations?

  • Resetting: What will help me truly sign off so I can recharge over the weekend?

You’ll be amazed how powerful it feels to end the week on your terms and with clarity instead of chaos.

Yes, it will take effort!

Making space for High-Impact Fridays won’t happen without intention. You’ll need to:

  • Put it on your calendar—every week

  • Say no (or “next week”) to meetings that try to creep in

  • Treat this time as essential, not optional

But the ROI is real. You'll have more clarity, more focus, more energy, and likely a better weekend.

Make space to lead

Leadership isn’t just what happens in your meetings. It’s what happens in the margins—when you pause long enough to get intentional.

So here’s your challenge: Make Fridays High-Impact. Protect the space. Reflect with purpose. And head into the weekend proud of how you showed up.

You deserve that. And so does your team.
